Europe proyect

Option 1: Task 1

19.10.15

Dear diary:
I arrive from Europe, a see a lot of countries with their different cultures aspects, different people, and different quotidian aspects, all involved in a enormous beauty. But now a question catches me, all the beauty is the same?, in other word all the places that I see are beauty because are not normal for me to see or their had their proper beauty?.

Beauty, the quality of a person, a thing or an animal that provoke to anyone who see it a feeling of pleasure and happiness. This definition is the globally accepted, but when you had walk for a great variety of places you now, that the rule change because every place have their owns characteristics attraction’s that have their own beauty their own history.

I see the impotent mediaeval stile of United kingdom with their hug castles and wall that represent the brave spirit of the country history, that extend her pride to all the habitants that live under the sun of this country. I walk in the great epic center the cost of the “illustration” that move the critical thinking of the people in the hispan-american empire, giving us the desire of knowledge, seeing her history in the great museum of Luvre, and inhaling the air of the elegance in the Palace of Versalles. And for the final I put me in the great magic of the great’s passages of the Romans and Greeks, walking in the same roads of the great armies and emperors, and besides plunging into the great artistic culture of the country, see in firsthand the biggest exponents of the romanticism and the renascence cultural artistic movements.

Well I think that in the end their country have their own beauty because each one have different history, culture and hidden magic, so that every spectator who can stop in this old lands seek and find and define the beauty by their owns.

description of image 2

Nowadays coloured people in Cape Flats feel discriminated by Black people. In the past, this situation was a lot different.

This picture represent a little town in South Africa, called Cape Town. And the description of the image tell us a general idea, that the positions of the people in discrimination was change because in the past the discrimination were for the black people.
At the center of the picture we can see a departmental big house in a precarious conditions, at the foreground we can see at the bottom left corner, there is a little black skinned kid that is running. In the bottom right corner we can see between the building and the street there is a group of people, four men’s are working in the reparations of the building. A detail of the picture is that in the street is a lot of garbage.

Technology to solve the Poverty.

Today I´m here to to talk to you, of the present problem that society had all the times, thats is the poverty, and the best way to solve it.

And I now, that when I say that technology is a good way to do that, a lot of you are going to refuse that possibility in the instant, but to the persons that are denied this way, I have to say something to you and is that you are wrong, and you have to open your minds to the possibilities of the use of technology.

First use the technology and her development, demonstrate that the country is elevating her total economy , second the technology develop create a enormous quantity of job, that can be used to improve the lives of the people, third the use of technology facilitate the communication for families and of opportunities of investment.

That is way yo have to be confidence in the technology, because you are going to improve your life, the lives of everybody in the country, because the possibitiliest of the the incorporation os the technology is going to be in favour of all then people, lowering the levels of inequality of the people, for the sake of a fair competition for the jobs in all the country.

global warming

Global Warming is the increase of Earth's average surface temperature due to effect of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide emissions from burning fossil fuels or from deforestation, which trap heat that would otherwise escape from Earth. This is a type of greenhouse effect.

Is global warming, caused by human activity, even remotely plausible?

Earth's climate is mostly influenced by the first 6 miles or so of the atmosphere which contains most of the matter making up the atmosphere. This is really a very thin layer if you think about it. In the book The End of Nature, author Bill McKibbin tells of walking three miles to from his cabin in the Adirondack's to buy food. Afterwards, he realized that on this short journey he had traveled a distance equal to that of the layer of the atmosphere where almost all the action of our climate is contained. In fact, if you were to view Earth from space, the principle part of the atmosphere would only be about as thick as the skin on an onion! Realizing this makes it more plausible to suppose that human beings can change the climate. A look at the amount of greenhouse gases we are spewing into the atmosphere (see below), makes it even more plausible.

What are the Greenhouse Gases?

The most significant greenhouse gas is actually water vapor, not something produced directly by humankind in significant amounts. However, even slight increases in atmospheric levels of  carbon dioxide (CO2) can cause a substantial increase in temperature.

Why is this? There are two reasons: First, although the concentrations of these gases are not nearly as large as that of oxygen and nitrogen (the main constituents of the atmosphere), neither oxygen or nitrogen are greenhouse gases. This is because neither has more than two atoms per molecule (i.e. their molecular forms are O2 and N2, respectively), and so they lack the internal vibrational modes that molecules with more than two atoms have. Both water and CO2, for example, have these "internal vibrational modes", and these vibrational modes can absorb and reradiate infrared radiation, which causes the greenhouse effect.

Secondly,  CO2 tends to remain in the atmosphere for a very long time (time scales in the hundreds of years). Water vapor, on the other hand, can easily condense or evaporate, depending on local conditions. Water vapor levels therefore tend to adjust quickly to the prevailing conditions, such that the energy flows from the Sun and re-radiation from the Earth achieve a balance. CO2 tends to remain fairly constant and therefore behave as a controlling factor, rather than a reacting factor. More CO2 means that the balance occurs at higher temperatures and water vapor Level.Global Warming is the increase of Earth's average surface temperature due to effect of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide emissions from burning fossil fuels or from deforestation, which trap heat that would otherwise escape from Earth. Extreme weather events
Extreme weather is an effect of global warming. While experiencing some of the hottest summers on record, much of the United States also has been experiencing colder than normal winters.

Increase in average temperatures and temperature extremes
One of the most immediate and obvious effects of global warming is the increase in temperatures around the world. The average global temperature has increased by about 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit (0.8 degrees Celsius) over the past 100 years, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

Ice mellt
Since 1970, the area of snow cover in the United States has steadily decreased, according to the EPA, and the average temperature of permafrost (soil that's at or below freezing temperature) has grown warmer.

Sea levels and ocean acidification
As ice melts, the ocean levels rise. In 2014, the World Meteorological Organization reported that sea level rise accelerated .12 inches (3 millimeters) per year on average worldwide. This is around double the average annual rise of .07 in (1.6 mm) in the 20th century.

Replace a regular incandescent light bulb with a compact fluorescent light bulb (cfl)
CFLs use 60% less energy than a regular bulb. This simple switch will
save about 300 pounds of carbon dioxide a year.We recommend you purchase your CFL bulbs at 1000bulbs.com, they have great deals on both screw-in and plug-in light bulbs.
Install a programmable thermostat
Programmable thermostats will automatically lower the heat or air
conditioning at night and raise them again in the morning. They can
save you $100 a year on your energy bill.
Move your thermostat down 2° in winter and up 2° in summer
Almost half of the energy we use in our homes goes to heating and
cooling. You could save about 2,000 pounds of carbon dioxide a year
with this simple adjustment.
Clean or replace filters on your furnace and air conditioner
Cleaning a dirty air filter can save 350 pounds of carbon dioxide a year.
Choose energy efficient appliances when making new purchases
Look for the Energy Star label on new appliances to
choose the most energy efficient products
available.
Do not leave appliances on standby
Use the “on/off” function on the machine itself. A TV set that’s switched on for 3 hours a day
(the average time Europeans spend watching TV) and in standby mode during the remaining 21 hours
uses about 40% of its energy in standby mode.
Wrap your water heater in an insulation blanket
You’ll save 1,000 pounds of carbon dioxide a year with this simple
action. You can save another 550 pounds per year by setting the
thermostat no higher than 50°C.
Move your fridge and freezer
Placing them next to the cooker or boiler consumes much more energy than if they were standing on
their own. For example, if you put them in a hot cellar room where the room temperature is 30-35ºC,
energy use is almost double and causes an extra 160kg of CO2 emissions for fridges per year and
320kg for freezers.
Defrost old fridges and freezers regularly
Even better is to replace them with newer models, which all have automatic defrost cycles and are
generally up to two times more energy-efficient than their predecessors.
Don’t let heat escape from your house over a long period
When airing your house, open the windows for only a few minutes. If you leave a small opening all
day long, the energy needed to keep it warm inside during six cold months (10ºC or less outside
temperature) would result in almost 1 ton of CO2 emissions.
